Testimonials

My three children have all attended Kingwood Day School. My sons went to Discovery Day Camp AM summer sessions and enjoyed educational and fun-filled weeks. I was very impressed with the the quality of the Texas wildlife notebooks that the children made.

My daughter attended KDS as a preschooler year-round. She independently learned how to solve beautiful, challenging 3D puzzles there.

The teacher read and talked to the children often in a loud, clear voice. They received an excellent intellectual education. The children shared educational toys, books, pet animals, and the playground with children from our own and other cultures. They met children and their parents who spoke more than one language. They even learned how to laugh like a Japanese lady. Some parents kindly gave talks to the children about their work.

The school had new playground equipment for the kids to try and almost everyone enjoyed riding bikes on the large, adjacent, enclosed paved area.

It was so charming to see the boys and girls dress up and go to Jones Hall for a Children's concert given by the Houston Symphony as one of their field trips. They were decked out in their outfits and they looked superb! Another special occasion was the time the children sang holiday songs in December for a tea held at the school.

The teacher had many open houses and was always willing to talk to us parents about our child's progress. She vivaciously explored many subjects at school, including Science, History, Reading, and Art. The kids painted huge paper murals of butterflies to welcome a well-known author of Children's Literature on his visit to Kingwood. They worked on several hands-on projects and activities.

When it was time to pick up my child, I loved seeing him/her playing happily next to the tidy shelves. The children often played cooperative board games and ate truly healthy snacks and lunches. They learned how to pick up after themselves . Some of the values taught at the school are orderliness and respect for property and people.

My children have gone on to public elementary school and further in HISD. My sons were selected for WINGS gifted and talented program and my daughter was selected for SPICE in kindergarten. We are grateful to the teachers, the teacher aids, and the receptionist at KDS for providing a wholesome, intellectual environment for our youngsters to learn and grow.

My children, Amber and Shaun, attended Kingwood Day School from early childhood until Kindergarten, completing the KDS program. The instruction and individualized attention they received while attending KDS were phenomenal.

After an early experience with another Montessori school, I quickly learned the difference between a "Fancy name" day care and the "Real thing" with Kingwood Day School Montessori.

My children benefited in an immediate and tangible way. Both children have continued exceptional development in Kingwood Public schools. My oldest is a Senior at Kingwood High School, with a straight "A" average and President of the Debate team, winning many other awards. My youngest is in the Gifted Talented program in Middle School and participating in orchestra and other programs, also achieving outstanding levels. We attribute much of their success to their "great beginnings" at KDS.

Most importantly; after my children's completion of their KDS education, we continued to relate to their KDS teachers, who kept an active interest in their development with sound advice and sincere concern. Our heartfelt recommendations to Kingwood Day School and staff for continued success in "Excellent education".

Paul and Renee Ahmed

It is so hard to keep in touch when time flies as it does. Katie was selected for the SPICE program last week at Humble Elem. Genetics aside, I credit you and your staff with her academic excellence.
If you are so inclined, please feel free to use us as a reference for your new students. We give Kingwood Day School Montessori an A+.

Love,
Cindi & Katie Pira

These words are insufficient to express the gratitude that we feel for all that you have done for Chase and our family. You have taught him, encouraged him, disciplined him, and loved him. Now, as he is ready to take that big step from kindergarten to first grade, he is ready, thanks to you.

We hope that these birds will remind you of him. After all, you have helped prepare him to sing and fly.

With love,
Rebecca & Roger Hagans

I finally find the time to write you after all these weeks. I wish I would have done it sooner. I just want to tell you how happy I’ve been with your school and the good education and teaching you provided to my girls. I know it might sound flattering but you were all great teachers and substitutes! Even now that they are attending school, the girls still take advantage of what they learned at Kingwood Day School Montessori.

I plan to come back with my children for Easter and spend four-five weeks in Kingwood. I would be so pleased if they could attend Kingwood Day School Montessori for the month of April (all three of them).

Best regards,
Veronique & Jean-Luc Dubois

I would like to thank you and your staff for providing Scott with a positive educational experience this past summer. He enjoyed the activities at Kingwood Day School Montessori and continues to mention related concepts that captured his attention, such as the mummies in Egypt. I think it was especially nice for him to be involved in a program that included children of differing ages and a variety of skill levels. This is certainly beneficial for his self-esteem.

Your hard work, creativity and efforts to include all children are very much appreciated.

Sincerely,
Lisa Hill Sostack

Thank you so much for a great beginning to Levi’s education. He loves all of you and the school so much (it may not seem like it in the mornings - but he really does !!) Ray and I are so pleased with all of your.

You all do such a wonderful job.

Thank you!
Ray and Sherry Miller

We just wanted to thank you for all the great pictures throughout the year. I keep scrapbooks for the boys and they have been greatly appreciated. Thanks to your staff for all their love and care of the boys this year!

Hope you have a great summer!

Sincerely,
Melanie

We have never had any reason to question our decision to entrust Leigh Ann to your care and nurturing. From the start, it was clear the Leigh Ann would flourish in the atmosphere of KDS.

The individual attention and breath of academic exposure has laid a solid foundation for her future academic endeavors, but more especially, has given her a great sense self-esteem and confidence in her skills.

We want to thank you for all the love and attention your have given all your students, but especially, our Leigh Ann

Sincerely,
Nora & Tim Axt

It’s hard to put into words what we feel about you and KDS. It seems months ago I dropped Rebecca off for her first day and now it’s James’ turn! KDS has provided Rebecca with the love and security necessary to grow into a happy, confident and enthusiastic “first grader.” The greatest gift you bestow on the children is the thirst for knowledge and love of learning. As you know I recommend you to everyone - in your little school’s an oasis in the desert!! We love it!

Sincere thanks & much love,
Susan & Neil

We got your notice in the mail about the reunion. It stirred up excitement, memories, and a yearning for travel. But, since Sommer and Chloe are unable to come to the reunion, we are sending this video with the hope that it can be shared with their classmates.

I think of you so often. I have such special and good memories of our life and experiences in Kingwood. Sommer and Chloe are eager learners and have flourished as students in large part due to the rich, bountiful, and caring environment you and your staff provided them at KDS. I thank you for that. Dane is an equally good student who excels in all areas. I just had to work harder to provide that atmosphere for him.

Take care and best wishes. Tell all we said, “Hi”.

Sincerely,
Ann Young

Stephen shared this quotation with me and I immediately put aside to share with all of your because it is the essence of Kingwood Day School Montessori and all that you have become to our family.

“I have found that the key to the ninety-nine is the one – particularly the one that is testing the patience and the good humor of the many. It is the love and the discipline of the one student, the one child, that communicates love for the others. It’s how you treat the one that reveals how you regard the ninety-nine, because everyone is ultimately a one.”

This year has been one of seeing Cooper transform from an eager sponge absorbing all around him, into that of a scholar and student learning as well as teaching. This year of mental growth has been one of leaps and bounds. Every two or three months we would be able to see such a significant difference in how Cooper was able to cope with all of the information around him. From such simple things as being able to sit through a meal and carry on a conversation about current events at school as well as in the world, to complex issues such as readable handwriting.

The last 6 weeks have brought tremendous growth in his ability to transfer his knowledge into acceptable actions. This year of patience, understanding, constant and consistent reinforcement has reaped more than I ever imagined possible in one short year. I have no fear of sending him off the “the Big School” because I know that he has learned about the intangibles of life that will enable him to cope with the challenges that lay ahead for him. Thank you for your investment of time and emotion not only to Cooper, but myself as well. Being able to seek advice from those that have “Been There, Done That” is invaluable to me. Cooper now has truly begun his journey to manhood, and you have provided a base upon which this mountain will be built. I only hope that he has brought as much joy to you as he shares at home, and that you know how very much you mean to him.

If I can only gain a mere speck of your vast teaching knowledge to pan on to my children they will be very fortunate in the years to come.

Thanks for everything,
Sonja Hollomon

Dear All of the KDS staff,
During this season of Christmas we think of the many wonderful things that we are thankful for and at the top of our list is KDS.  Thank you for the many wonderful years of learning for Matthew and Daniel. It seems that 8 years have flown by since Matthew's first day at KDS. Matthew and Daniel's minds just seemed to "absorb" many wonderful things at KDS including all the basics of reading, writing, math, knowledge of nature and animals, and all of the "fun facts" (like how far can an eagle see? How many times does the earth revolve around the sun on each of your birthdays? etc. etc.) The greatest gifts that our boys received from KDS were their love and excitement for learning and their ability to "think outside of the box." Thanks to KDS, Matthew and Daniel have received the "discipline" and "know how" to be independent learners and starters. They are both excelling in elementary school and they both wish that they could "go back to fun-fact learning at KDS."
Thank you and Merry Christmas,
Ed and Allison

I have had two children go through the Kingwood Day School preschool program. We spent a total of five years there. The children really liked it and were very happy there. I felt like they received the best education.  The curriculum is unbeatable. Amazing opportunities are given to the children between the many field trips, science experiments, and interactive projects.

I would like to take this opportunity to thank you for what you have given our son Reece.

Reece came to Kingwood Day School with only the basics of ABC's and 123's. He will now be enrolling in public Kindergarten reading as well as doing simple multiplication and division. We are ecstatic about the knowledge, exposure, and most importantly the confidence he has gained in your environment.

Like most children, I expected Reece to be a little reluctant entering a new place (as he did the previous year). To our surprise, from day one Reece has never complained about coming to school. Not only does Reece have lots to share about his learning inside the school, he has just as much fun on the playground activities outside.

We are also excited to announce that our other son Pierce will be attending Kingwood Day School in 2006.

I will serve as a voice to get the word out about your wonderful program.

Thank you so much for everything you have given Reece.  We will miss you and we will see you soon.

Sincerely, The Spencers (Shannon, Terisa, Reece, and Pierce)
